Their stories

This was our first rescue! Maddie was found at a local farm living on wire flooring. Her water was filled with algae and she didn’t have a proper diet! They were housing over 20 rabbits and it was mid summer so they were all panting so much that it looked like they were having seizures. Now she lives with a wonderful family and is loving life!

Here is a before and after photo of our sweet rescue autumn! She came from a situation where a young teenage boy was backyard breeding. He owns over 13 other bunnies and has labs in his backyard that he also breeds. We came across her on an add we saw. The only text was “need gone. We can’t afford a rabbit who can’t produce.” They had breed her so much she couldn’t have babies anymore. She lived on wire for all 4 years of her life and was being breed constantly. She want handled at all during that time. He had no care in the world for her. He surrendered her to us on January 6th, 2018. When she came in she was super scared of everything in her path. Her feet have permanent calluses on them from walking on wire. She was rarely feed hay and mainly lived off of pellets. They rarely feed her greens. Now she lives with her doggie sibling, her hopefully soon to be husbun, and her very kind new owner!

This is Blue! He was found abandoned in a skate park helpless and surrounded by tenagers! He was brought to a city shelter who was getting ready to sell him at a livestock auction, when she swooped in and rescued him. She was not equipped to deal with his leg injury so she handed him over to us! He was super malnourished and he suffered from an injury to his back leg it was possibly broken/sprained, but he has made a full recovery and is hoping around everywhere. He is currently searching for his forever home!

This is Libby! She was found roaming a neighborhood near me. It was late at night when I came across this Instagram story talking about a found rabbit. I immediately asked for the address, jumped in my car with all my rescue supplies. When I got there she was laying in the gutter frozen in fear. She almost got hit by a car when this huge Jeep came driving by. I slowly worked my way closer and closer to her. I quickly grabbed her and started to put her in the kennel when she started shrieking. If you own rabbits you know that rabbits don’t really make noise. It is possible for them to steal and scram like this, but only in situations when they are truly afraid. She was so scared. She started kicking and just kept squealing. I finally got her in the kennel and she started to calm down. I brought her home and started to get her settled in in a nice warm cage. She quickly took to me and I slowly started to gain her trust. Finally later that night she let me get close enough to hold her. I could feel her heart thumping. I just heard her to my chest. I wanted to make her feel safe. I wanted her to know she was loved. Later that night I decided to name her Libby. She wouldn’t have survived the night out there. In Utah there are always wild animals out on the hunt. I contacted everywhere and listed found adds. No one replied. It was likely she was let go. She is super healthy and expected to be anywhere from 1-2 years old. She lives with a super sweet mother and daughter and their adorable bunny Sundar!

This is Clementine! She came from a backyard breeder who decided he didn’t want her anymore because she didn’t handle her pregnancy well. Her age and breed are unknown. She used to live on wire flooring in a small outdoor cage and was used for breeding. The owners were hoarders! Their house was piled with tons of garbage! Now she is in an amazing foster home who plans to adopt her! She is going in for a vet check soon and then hopefully she will be ready to be spayed! She is loving and super sweet!

This is Rue. She was surrendered by the same guy that gave us Autumn. She is almost 1 year old, he surrendered her because she didn’t handle her last pregnancy well at all. Sadly, she was super close to giving birth when things took a turn for the worst. She ended up dissolving the babies because her body couldn’t handle it. She got super sick and was near death. She pulled through and is doing amazing now! She is super sweet and fairly big! She is living with one of our awesome foster families and will be living with her until we can get her spayed and make sure she’s healthy, after that she will be coming back to us so we can find her a forever home! She is super sweet, and curious!

Meet Ivy! Her age and breed are unknown! She is the sweetest thing! I found an add for her the price was $5 her living situation was horrible. I text the owners begging them to just let her go for free. They told me $1 or nothing. They claimed their neighbor was going to make hamburger out of her if we didn’t pick her up that night. We drove 30mins in the dark to rescue this poor girl. I refused to pay $1 and they finally just gave in and said fine. Her previous owners were backyard breeders who only had her for a week. They bought her at an auction then wanted her gone. She is the sweetest thing and was so scared when we picked her up for the first time. She is out of that place now and she is safe. She is fully healthy and ready to be spayed.

Meet Paulie she is the sweetest French lop. She was previously used for breeding, most of her babies were sold for meat. She lived outside in harsh weathers and on wire flooring. She developed a terrible eye problem around 4 months before we got her. When she was surrendered she had a terrible case of treponematosis also known as rabbit siphilis. She also had mites and a horrible eye infection. She is now healthy and happy and fully recovered! She will be in search of her forever home as soon as she is spayed.

This is Bungee! Bungee was most likely left behind by some people renting a house. He had been seen running around a small cul-de-sac for weeks! His rescuer noticed him and started to plan his rescue. She eventually caught him and we found her searching for a rescue for him to go to. We decided to take him in, and give him the TLC he deserves. He was a little underweight and had scars all over him. He is now healthy and happy and searching for a new home although he still needs to put on a little weight.

Meet cache! He is the sweetest little guy! He came from a woman that was moving and couldn’t take him with her and was unable to care for his medical needs. He currently has a large abscess or tumor on the side of his cheek. It is pretty massive so he will be heading to the vet soon to get that checked out. He is full of energy and curiosity and will make an amazing companion for someone someday!
